Crossroads Firewood Co.
About

Built by craftsmen.

Father and son, ten years of cutting and curing, and a standing rule about what gets loaded onto your truck.

The Hoffmans

A father, a son, and a hardwood lot near Zion Crossroads.

Crossroads Firewood Co. is owned and run by Terry Hoffman and his son, Terry. When they aren't cutting and curing firewood, they're building custom homes across central Virginia. The same standards that go into a fine home go into every cord we sell — careful selection, honest measurement, no shortcuts.

What started as a weekend operation a decade ago is now the busiest part of the week. Restaurants started calling for cooking wood. Wineries needed fire-ring hardwood for tastings. Neighbors found out the lot existed and asked for cords. With new equipment on the way and a yard organized for retail-style throughput, we're ready to handle real volume — without changing how we work.

Every piece of wood is hand-selected. Every tote is hand-stacked. And nothing leaves our lot until it's ready to burn.

Our Promise

Three rules. No exceptions.

01

Fully cured. Never green.

Our wood spends time in the open air until moisture is where it should be. You light it — it burns.

02

Premium species only.

Red oak, white oak, chestnut, and hickory on request. No pine. No poplar. No locust. No filler.

03

Hand-stacked, honest volume.

Totes are stacked, not dumped. One tote is one-third of a cord. Three totes is a full cord. That's the math, every time.

“If it isn't fully cured red oak, white oak, chestnut, or hickory — it doesn't go in your truck.”
